The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon takes runners on a fast 42.195K road course through the heart of Frankfurt. Starting on Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, the circular route explores the city and both sides of the River Main before returning to Messe Frankfurt for one of the event’s most distinctive features, an indoor finish inside the Festhalle.
Runners follow an exceptionally flat course with just 27.8 metres separating its lowest and highest points. The route passes Frankfurt’s striking skyline before heading through Sachsenhausen and towards Höchst, then returns along Mainzer Landstrasse and through the city centre. The combination of level roads, extensive spectator support and a fast course makes the marathon particularly attractive to runners targeting a strong time.
The final stretch brings runners back towards the exhibition grounds and into the Festhalle, where the course continues across the red carpet to the finish line inside the arena. A Marathon Relay and 4.2K Mini Marathon are also part of the event, giving teams and younger runners their own opportunity to experience the Frankfurt Marathon atmosphere and its Festhalle finish.
