Trail Series Back In 2024
Sign yourself up for a summer of trail racing at this three-race series...
After a successful inaugural outing in 2023, the Bearwood 10K Race Series will return to Herefordshire in 2024 with three summer dates in July and August. Organised by Hereford running Club Wye Valley Runners with support from farm owner and Sports Coach Ed Collins, the race is suitable for beginners and elite club runners alike.
Race HQ is Bearwood Farm in Pembridge with the first of the races taking place on Tuesday evenings with 30 July up first, followed by 13 August and then 27 August. The three-race series is billed as laid-back and low-key with the three trail races taking place deep in the glorious Herefordshire countryside.
The undulating 3 mile wide trail skirts field boundaries, passes through woods and offers runners different types of surfaces from grassy verges to farm tracks and woodland rides. Runners will enjoy a two-lap trail run that is chip timed and is 'very runnable' and suitable for first-timers with pretty spectacular views too, looking towards Hergest Ridge in one direction, to Clee Hill in the other.
In 2023 the overall series women’s winner was Jo Tilby of Croft Ambrey running club with Club mate Sam Juson picking up the men’s gold medal. This year there will be medals after the three race series and prizes in all the usual categories.
