Race Across Bannau Brycheiniog is a 100 mile trail ultramarathon that follows the Beacons Way National Trail through Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Starting at Abergavenny Castle, the route passes through the Black Mountains before crossing landmarks including Llanthony Abbey, Pen-y-Fan and the Carmarthen Fans, with more than 6,100 metres of ascent across some of South Wales' most spectacular mountain scenery.
The event is designed for experienced ultramarathon runners and requires competitors to navigate independently using a map and compass between checkpoints. Live GPS tracking, dedicated event support and optional transport back to the start are provided, while eligible finishers can also earn UTMB Performance Index and ITRA points.
