The Bath & Bristol Railway Races follow the former railway line between Bath and Bristol, beginning at Green Park and heading along the traffic free Bath to Bristol Railway Path. The historic route passes through green countryside and features reminders of its railway heritage, including former stations, signal boxes and sections alongside the active Avon Valley Railway.
Runners can choose from 10K, Half Marathon, 25K, Marathon and 50K distances on an exceptionally flat, predominantly tarmac route. The 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon and 50K use out and back courses from Bath, while the 25K follows a point to point route finishing near Bristol Temple Meads. Longer distances also pass through the illuminated Staple Hill Tunnel, adding a distinctive feature to the course.
Comprehensive course marking, regular marshal points and well stocked feed stations support runners along the route. The railway setting and gentle profile make the event well suited to runners looking for a fast course or stepping up to a longer distance, while a separate 2K Fun Run provides an additional shorter event.
