The Barnsley 10K is a fully closed road race that showcases the best of Barnsley on a scenic one lap route through the town and its surrounding neighbourhoods. Starting and finishing at The Glass Works in the heart of the town centre, the event welcomes runners of all abilities and has become a popular fixture on the South Yorkshire running calendar.
The predominantly flat to gently undulating course passes through Barnsley town centre before heading towards Wilthorpe, Redbrook and the Claycliffe Road area, taking in parks, tree lined streets and local landmarks along the way. Fully closed roads, kilometre markers, chip timing and water stations provide excellent support for runners whether chasing a personal best or completing their first 10K.
Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, event T-shirt and free race photographs, while enthusiastic spectators create a lively atmosphere from start to finish.
