The Ballater Games Hill Race is a 3.5K hill race held as part of the Ballater Highland Games at Monaltrie Park in Ballater, Aberdeenshire.
Starting inside the Highland Games arena, runners head out towards Craigendarroch for a short, steep ascent before descending back to the games field and the finish. The course includes around 200m of climbing and combines the demands of hill running with the distinctive atmosphere of a traditional Scottish Highland Games.
The race takes place alongside the programme of Highland dancing, piping and traditional heavyweight events at Ballater Highland Games. Its compact distance, sharp climb and setting beneath the surrounding Cairngorms make it a distinctive fixture in the Scottish hill running calendar.
