The Ayrshire Coast Sunset Ultra is a 50K Ultra Marathon starting and finishing at Irvine Beach on Scotland’s west coast. The out and back route follows a mix of beaches, promenades, coastal paths and waterfront trails, creating a varied running experience beside the Ayrshire coastline.
Starting late in the evening, the event is designed around running from sunset towards sunrise, with long sections along the coast and night running throughout much of the course. The largely flat route makes it an accessible introduction to ultra distance running while still offering a distinctive endurance challenge in a scenic coastal setting.
