The Atlantic Coast Ultra is a 40 mile trail challenge along the north Cornwall coast, starting at Fistral Beach in Newquay and finishing at St Ives Bay Holiday Park near Hayle. The point to point route follows the South West Coast Path through some of Cornwall’s distinctive coastal scenery.
Runners tackle wild and rugged trail terrain with repeated steep climbs and descents on their journey south from Newquay. The route follows the waymarked South West Coast Path towards Hayle River Mouth and places an emphasis on self navigation, with checkpoints positioned approximately every 10 miles to provide food, drinks, medical assistance and event support.
Event HQ is at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, where participants register before being transported by bus to the start at Fistral Beach. GPS trackers allow progress to be monitored throughout the event, while medical cover and on course support are provided along the route. Finishers receive an event T-shirt and bespoke medal after completing the 40 mile challenge.
