The Zombies Are Coming!

Check out this fun 5K that offers plenty for families this summer...

The summer holidays can seem like an eternity for some parents, but the best way to get through it is by making plans and if zombie apocalypse chat is standard in your house, then perhaps 29 July's Apocalypse 5K would be a great activity for the whole family to enjoy?

Taking place in Aberdeenshire's Aden Country Park, the fun event certainly offers a unique day out this summer. Organisers invite you to dress up as a zombie and make your way through the park with other like-minded thrill-seekers. Along the way there will be a scavenger hunt to entertain and keep those taking part fully engaged.

Aden Country Park is a 230-acre country park in the heart of Buchan and is a fantastic location to spend time as a family, with a brand new play park taking centre stage. The course of the 5K is on undulating wooded footpaths so is suitable for wheelchairs or buggies to also take part.

After crossing the finish line, it is time to strike a pose for some spooky photo opportunities and grab a bite to eat from the food trucks. There will also be time to explore the eerie stalls and snacks that are on offer. Those taking part will receive a cool zombie medal at the end as a memento of the spooky adventure!

Organisers do offer a small word of caution though: "This event is for all ages, but we do advise there will be zombies walking a 5K so it won't be for every child!"
