The Alton Challenge is an established off road running event based at The White Hart in Alton, Staffordshire. Held for more than 35 years, it features an approximately 10K Challenge alongside a shorter 2 mile Fun Run.
The Challenge follows a scenic route through Dimmingsdale and the Churnet Valley, using gravel tracks and trails with very little tarmac. Runners can expect varied off road terrain, impressive woodland and valley scenery, and a challenging uphill section towards the finish.
The shorter Fun Run provides an additional option as part of the community event. Both routes are based around Alton, with food and refreshments available at The White Hart afterwards.
