South By Five Kings Park is a 5K event from Acorn Trails and the opening race in the South By Five series. The series visits six parks across Glasgow's south side, with runners able to enter individual races or complete five of the six events to become a series Fiver.
The Kings Park course uses mostly tarmac park paths alongside short off road sections. A downhill start leads into two large loops, with several climbs and descents adding variety to the route. Autumn conditions can bring wet leaves, slippery paths and muddy sections, giving the race a mixed terrain character.
The event has a friendly community focus, with a limited field and a marked, marshalled course through the park. South By Five also supports local causes through its community fund and charity partnership, with organised litter picks helping to give something back to each park visited by the series.
