World AIDS Day RED RUN is an annual charity running and walking event held in Victoria Park, East London. Organised by Positive East, the event brings people together to raise awareness of HIV, support vital charities and celebrate the communities working to improve the lives of people affected by HIV.
Participants can choose between 5K and 10K distances, following a shared 2.5K loop through Victoria Park. The 5K involves two laps and the 10K four laps, with runners and walkers free to complete their chosen distance at their own pace. The event is untimed, focusing on participation, solidarity and fundraising rather than competition.
The event village features HIV charity stalls, community exhibitions, entertainment and group warm ups. Participants receive a RED RUN T-shirt and finisher's medal, with bag check facilities and refreshments available. The inclusive atmosphere welcomes people of all ages and abilities to take part in support of HIV services across the UK.
