Yorkshire Reservoir Dogs is a trail running event from Otley with 15, 20.5 and 32.6 mile routes through the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. Devised by Punk Panther, the courses are characterised by waterside running and pass a series of reservoirs alongside woodland, hills and open countryside.
Runners encounter reservoirs including Lindley Wood, Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross, with routes also exploring areas around Stainburn Forest and Almscliffe Crag. The longest course extends the journey to additional reservoirs and covers around 3,500ft of climbing, providing an ultramarathon challenge alongside the shorter trail distances.
All routes are taped, flagged and signed, although runners are expected to carry the supplied map and route description rather than relying solely on course markings. Checkpoints provide drinks and snacks, while ultramarathon runners carry GPS trackers. All distances finish back in Otley, with medals and refreshments awaiting finishers.
