The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra is a challenging trail ultra from Hawes through the Yorkshire Dales, following established rights of way across classic limestone country and the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks.
The 70K route climbs around 2,185m and takes runners over Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen y Ghent before returning to Hawes. Navigation forms an important part of the challenge, with the course not waymarked beyond existing fingerposts and runners provided with course notes and GPX files.
Runners reaching Hawes within the required time can continue onto an additional 30K loop over Great Shunner Fell to complete a 100K ultra. Checkpoints provide refreshments along the route, with safety support on course and hot food awaiting runners back at race headquarters.
