Winter X is a midwinter trail running challenge organised by Chalk and Mud Trail Running, offering four distances through the Meon Valley and surrounding South Downs.
The course is built around four out and back legs from a central checkpoint at Meon Hall. The 10K follows the relatively flat old railway line towards West Meon, while the 30K adds an eastern leg along the South Downs Way. The 50K also tackles a western section via Beacon Hill towards Holden Farm, with 70K runners completing the full course by adding a southern leg along the old railway towards Wickham.
The routes primarily use public trails, including sections of the South Downs Way, with some short road connections. Courses are marked and GPX files provided, with marshals and stocked checkpoints supporting runners.
The event is chip timed, with post race food and drink and an event memento included.
