The race will mostly use the same trails around the wonderful South Derbyshire countryside as its summer counterpart. But, as well as going in the opposite direction (clockwise), there will be the added challenge of runners navigating their own way around the course, which will be un-marked.
An objective for the race is to encourage less experienced trail runners to have a go at a 'self-navigation' event. You will therefore be provided with a clear map and written directions, as well as a gpx file available for those who like to use technology. In addition, there is a guided option for those nervous about getting lost.
So, if you haven't taken part in an self-navigation event before, it is a great opportunity to come and have a go in a friendly and supportive environment. You will need suitable kit for the conditions though, including (as a minimum) the mandatory items specified below).w points on some of the most beautiful trails The Lakes has to offer.
