runABC is in the process of upgrading and improving its online service so you might encounter the odd glitch over the next week or so but rest assured we’re working on them and the new site will be a fantastic resource for our running community.

Isabel Trail parkrun And Stafford RUFC Joint Venture

Winning move from Isabel Trail parkrun & Stafford RUFC

Stafford Rugby Union Football Club (RUFC) was the perfect host at Saturday’s (8 February) Isabel Trail parkrun, offering their state of the art facilities for the event. Both parties are excited by this positive start to their relationship.

The rugby club’s generosity is a welcome boost for the Isabel Trail parkrun that had been out of action for several months due to flooding. However, conditions improved and this popular parkrun returned on the 1 February, its team of volunteers more determined than ever to provide an enjoyable event for everyone.

This upturn in fortunes continued on Saturday 8 February when Stafford RUFC opened the doors of their £5 million pound Cooper’s Park to them. This first class facility will act as a hub allowing access to free car parking, use of showers and toilets and the purchase of food and drink in the cafeteria. In addition the Isabel Trail Core Team can store equipment and collate results in warm and friendly surroundings.

Stafford RUFC is an active member of the community and has participated in a number of events for charity including half and full marathons. Their helping hand to the Isabel Trail parkrun is part of that commitment reiterated by club chairman Tim Woolman: “As a community facility, we welcome our new friends to Coopers Park” and club president Dave Ainge: “This move is another step in the club’s journey to become a community-based organisation which welcomes all”.

These sentiments are echoed by the Isabel Trail parkrun Event Directors and Core Team who are delighted by Stafford RUFC’s offer to host their weekly event.

“We extend our thanks to the Club for the warm welcome we and our runners received and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
