The Westside 5K & 10K is a community road running event held in Shawbost on the Isle of Lewis. Alongside the 5K and 10K races, the event also includes junior races, welcoming runners of all ages to enjoy a friendly day of competition in the Outer Hebrides.
The 5K follows an accurately measured circular road course from Shawbost Shinty Pitch, passing the South Shawbost shoreline and Loch a' Bhaile before returning to the Old School Community Centre. The 10K follows an out and back road route between Shawbost and Bragar, using the main road before looping through Bragar village and returning to Shawbost. Both races combine quiet roads, coastal scenery and gently undulating terrain.
Friendly local organisation, enthusiastic community support and the unique setting of the Isle of Lewis create a memorable race day experience. Combining spectacular Hebridean scenery with a choice of distances for adults and juniors, the Westside 5K & 10K is a distinctive fixture in the Scottish island running calendar.
