The Venice marathon brings together marathon, half marathon and 10K road races, with each distance following its own route before finishing in the heart of Venice. The courses showcase the city and surrounding area, with famous landmarks, canals and waterfront scenery forming a memorable setting for race day.
Marathon runners start beside Villa Pisani in Stra and follow the Riviera del Brenta through Marghera and Mestre before crossing the Ponte della Libertà into Venice. The largely flat course continues along the waterfront, crosses the Grand Canal on a temporary floating bridge and passes through Piazza San Marco before tackling the final canal bridges on the way to the finish at Riva Sette Martiri.
The half marathon starts in Mestre and the 10K begins in San Giuliano Park, with both races joining the journey towards Venice for their closing stages. All three distances finish at Riva Sette Martiri, giving runners the opportunity to experience a distinctive city race shaped by Venice’s historic architecture, waterways and unique island setting.
