Trunce 9 forms part of the popular Trunce fell race series based at Oxspring Playing Field near Sheffield. The senior course covers approximately 3.9 miles through the surrounding countryside, with around 190m of ascent and the distinctive river crossings that have become a feature of the series.
The route packs plenty into its relatively short distance, taking runners across fields, tracks and rough off road terrain with a succession of climbs and descents. River crossings add another challenge along the way, making this a fast and varied fell race where runners can expect wet feet and changing underfoot conditions.
The Trunce series consists of eight races and has a strong grassroots fell running character, with both senior and junior events. A 3K junior race accompanies the senior event, while series standings recognise leading junior, senior and veteran runners across the races.
