The Trunce Series Race 6 is organised by the Trunce Committee and takes place from Oxspring Playing Field near Penistone in South Yorkshire. Race 6 of the eight race Trunce Series, it continues a long established programme of summer evening fell races that attract runners of all abilities to the scenic hills of the Upper Don Valley.
The approximately 3.9 Mile course covers around 190 metres of ascent on a challenging off road route featuring steep climbs, fast descents, fields, woodland trails and river crossings. The varied terrain and traditional fell race format provide a demanding but enjoyable test on the edge of the Peak District.
The race is held under Fell Runners Association Rules with junior races taking place before the senior event. Entry is available on the day, with trophies awarded for the overall Trunce Series rather than individual races, maintaining the friendly and competitive spirit that has made the series a popular summer tradition.
