Tom Holmes Gala Chase
A race named in honour of Tom Holmes who founded the Chase after being inspired by the route he and his dog used to walk on a daily basis

The Chase commences in Coronation Park, proceeds up Station Lane/Jawbone Hill by road to Wharncliffe Woods, looping through the woods on compacted gravel paths before returning to finish back in the Park. The route is approximately 6km with 180m of ascent. The Junior Chase takes a shorter route through the woods and is just under 3km with 100m of ascent.
Tom Holmes was a prominent member of the Village; serving on the committee for the Gala and Sports Night as well as Oughtibridge Brass band.
