Thetford 5K Santa Run is a festive running event in Norfolk, starting and finishing at the historic Guildhall in Thetford's Market Place. Organised by Run Breckland in association with Thetford Town Council, the event brings families, friends and local runners together for a Christmas themed run around the town.
The 5K course follows mostly pavements, with a few road crossings and short off road sections. Its flat profile makes it accessible to beginners, recreational runners and experienced athletes, while the absence of a cut off time allows participants to complete the route at their own pace. Children can take part with adult supervision, and single running buggies are welcome.
Festive fancy dress is encouraged, with prizes for the best costumes adding to the seasonal atmosphere. All finishers receive a medal, while complimentary tea, coffee, squash and mince pies provide a welcoming celebration back at the Guildhall.
