The Essex Way Ultra is an 82 mile point to point ultramarathon following the full length of the Essex Way National Trail from Epping to Harwich. Starting near Epping Underground Station and finishing at the High Lighthouse in the historic coastal town of Harwich, the event offers an unforgettable journey across the diverse landscapes of Essex.
The route follows a varied mix of trails, footpaths, tracks and quiet roads through ancient woodland, open countryside, picturesque villages and rolling farmland before reaching the North Sea coast. With approximately 3,469 feet of elevation gain and a 24 hour cut off, the race provides a rewarding endurance challenge for experienced ultrarunners.
With GPS tracking, electronic timing, fully supported checkpoints, drop bag facilities and an experienced race medical team, the Essex Way Ultra combines excellent organisation with one of England's classic point to point ultra running adventures.
