The Drop York is a navigation based running event in York offering 6M, 10M and 15M distances. Runners are transported by bus to an undisclosed drop location before being released and required to find their way back to the start point using only personal judgement and route choice.

The course is not marked and there is no fixed route. Distances are measured as the crow flies, meaning the actual distance covered depends on the path chosen. The terrain typically includes a mix of urban streets, riverside paths, parkland and suburban roads as runners work their way back into the city.

This York event offers a different style of running challenge focused on navigation, decision making and endurance rather than speed. It creates an unpredictable city experience where every runner’s route is different.
