The Drop Bath is organised by Organic Adventure and offers one of the UK's most unusual endurance challenges. Participants choose a 6, 10 or 15 mile challenge before being transported to an undisclosed location outside Bath, where they must rely entirely on their own judgement and navigation skills to return to the event centre.
Before the challenge begins, participants surrender phones, watches and other navigation aids before boarding a bus to their unknown drop point. Once released, there are no route markers, GPS devices, maps or guidance, leaving every route choice and decision entirely in the hands of the participant. Distances are measured as straight line drops, meaning the actual distance covered is often considerably longer.
The event rewards problem solving, resilience and self reliance as much as physical endurance. Combining navigation, strategy and trail running in equal measure, The Drop Bath offers a unique adventure that is unlike any conventional running event.
