The Billing is a winter trail race organised by Great Owl Running, starting and finishing at Rawdon Cricket Club near Leeds. The route climbs the Billing twice and circles the perimeter of Leeds Bradford Airport, offering a distinctive challenge through the countryside around Rawdon and Yeadon.
The approximately 14K course features around 277 metres of ascent across fields, trails and public footpaths. Runners tackle an early climb of the Billing before heading through Yeadon and around the airport perimeter, returning via a second ascent. The fully marked route combines undulating terrain with challenging climbs and potentially muddy winter conditions.
Part of the Great Owl Running Winter Series, the event embraces the tougher side of winter trail running in a friendly, informal setting. Race HQ provides toilets and bag storage, with optional medals and T-shirts available for participants who want a keepsake.
