Steps For Change Children's Challenge is an inclusive family event organised by Able Child, following the Thames from Kingston Bridge towards Hampton Court Palace. Participants can run, walk, stroll or roll along the flat riverside route, with paved paths suitable for wheelchairs, buggies and scooters as well as runners and walkers.
The 10K follows Barge Walk from Kingston towards Hampton Court Palace and returns to the starting area, while the palace marks the finish for those completing the 5K option. Able Child stewards and route signs guide participants along the course, with drinks and snacks available.
Every entrant receives an Able Child T-shirt and finishers can collect an eco-medal. The event raises funds for Able Child and its work supporting children with disabilities across Africa. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
