The Taunton 10K is a long established road race starting and finishing at Blackbrook Pavilion in Taunton. The circular course heads through the residential Holway area before leaving the town for the quieter countryside around Stoke St Mary and Haydon.
Runners tackle a gently undulating 10K course combining urban roads with scenic country lanes before returning to Blackbrook Pavilion for the finish. Most of the route remains open to traffic, with some narrow sections requiring runners to keep to the left, while a water station is provided shortly after the halfway point.
The race is held under UK Athletics rules on an officially measured course and includes chip timing. Sustainable wooden medals are presented to all finishers, with prizes for leading runners and a range of age categories. Facilities at the event headquarters include parking, changing areas, showers and toilets.
