The Tattenhall Tough Team Race is a long established fixture on the Cheshire running calendar and has been challenging runners for more than two decades. Held close to the longest day of the year, the event combines competitive racing with a fun and sociable atmosphere.

The approximately 9 mile multi terrain course features a mixture of road, trails and challenging off road sections, including the infamous railway climb, often referred to as the Stairway to Hell. Teams of three compete together, with the team's result determined by the time of the final runner to finish, placing equal emphasis on teamwork, pacing and endurance.

Starting and finishing at Tattenhall Recreation Club, the race concludes with food and refreshments available at the clubhouse, making it a popular event for running clubs looking to combine competition with a social summer evening.
