The Summer Solstice 10K is a popular midsummer evening road race organised by Grantham Running Club. Held on the Friday closest to the longest day of the year, the event combines a welcoming atmosphere with a scenic countryside route through rural Lincolnshire.
Starting and finishing in the village of Ropsley, the accurately measured 10K follows quiet country lanes through Little Humby, Sapperton and Braceby. While not completely flat, the route is designed to be accessible for runners of all abilities and offers excellent potential for personal best and season best performances, helped by a fast final kilometre back towards the finish.
With chip timing, pacers, a supportive race day atmosphere and a custom finisher medal, the Summer Solstice 10K has become a well established fixture in the region's summer racing calendar.
