Summer Extravaganza is one of It's Grim Up North Running's longest established and most popular events, taking place along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Kirkstall. The flat canal towpath course offers excellent footing throughout, with a 6.7 mile lap used to create distances from 10K through to Marathon, making it suitable for first time runners and experienced racers alike.
The event is organised under Trail Running Association rules and includes well stocked feed stations, bespoke finisher medals, a barbecue, cakes, hot and cold drinks, and enthusiastic marshals. Registration takes place at Hollybush Conservation Centre, just across the road from the start and finish area, with toilets available on site.
Whether you are aiming for a personal best over a shorter distance or taking on your first longer trail challenge, Summer Extravaganza combines a fast, scenic route with the friendly atmosphere and generous finish line hospitality that It's Grim Up North Running events are known for.
