Perhaps it's because the course is flat, fast and great underfoot, or maybe because there are 5 distances to choose from, or could it be the fabulous BBQ, cakes, sweets, pop and beer selection at the end, not to mention the wonderful marshals and the bespoke medal. Whatever it is this one fills up very quickly.
The route starts next to the canal at Kirkstall, which is 3 miles outside the centre of Leeds, so loads of public transport and accommodation for those travelling from a distance. The course is a good canal towpath all the way. it is a lapped course with one lap being 6.7 miles. This course is a must for anyone doing their first event, anyone wishing for a PB and with a 6.5 hour cut off anyone just looking for a day out.
