Stour Valley Marathon & Half Marathon

The Stour Valley Marathon and Half Marathon start and finish in Nayland on the Essex and Suffolk border. Following sections of the Stour Valley Path, St Edmund Way and Essex Way, the routes explore the landscapes of the Stour Valley on a mixture of tracks, trails, byways and quiet rural roads.

The Half Marathon follows the opening loop of the Marathon course, while the Marathon extends to approximately 27 miles. Both events are predominantly self navigated, requiring runners to follow GPX files or written route instructions as they travel through the countryside surrounding the River Stour.

With long established routes, varied terrain and a self navigation format, the event offers a distinctive trail running challenge that showcases the rural scenery and historic paths of the Stour Valley.
