Stort30 Ultra

The Stort30 is a 30 mile trail ultra starting and finishing at Hockerill Sports and Social Club in Bishop's Stortford. The scenic route follows the River Stort and Lee Navigation for 15 miles to the turnaround at Rye House before returning along the same course.

Runners follow a largely flat mixture of grassy riverside trails, graded gravel paths and footpaths, with only short sections of tarmac near the start and finish. The route is signed and straightforward to follow, although a route description and GPX file are also available as backup. Around 12 miles of riverside trail can become muddy and slippery following wet weather.

Checkpoints approximately every five miles provide drinks and snacks, with a four hour cut off at the 15 mile turnaround and an eight hour overall limit. The race is electronically timed with live results, and all finishers receive a medal. Toilets, changing facilities, showers and baggage storage are available at the clubhouse, with drinks and refreshments after the race.
