Storm the Fort is a night trail running event held on the striking Brean Down in Somerset, offering runners a choice of 5K and 10K distances as part of the Dark Skies Series. Taking place on the dramatic headland between Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea, the traffic free course combines coastal trails, historic landmarks and rewarding night time scenery.
The 5K route climbs onto Brean Down before heading towards the historic fort, passing through the fort buildings to create a memorable atmosphere after dark. The 10K follows the same route over two laps. While the course includes a couple of testing climbs and a short technical ascent, it is run entirely on established trails and tracks.
On clear evenings, runners are treated to sweeping views across the Bristol Channel towards South Wales and back along the Somerset coastline. Combining varied trail running, coastal scenery and a unique historic setting, Storm the Fort offers a distinctive night running experience for both newcomers and experienced trail runners.
