ASICS Stockholm Marathon 2019

Stockholm, Sweden - 1 June 2019 Stockholm is one of Europe's most beautiful cities. It's archipelago setting makes it unique so no surprise that the ASICS Stockholm Marathon course is one of the big features of this top Scandinavian race.

The atmosphere is electric from the get-go with the dramatic start at the Olympic Stadium, the home of the 1912 Games. Home runners are supplemented by a big international contingent. Expect to hear many languages and see the flags of dozens of countries.

2018 saw the successful introduction of a one-lap course for the 40th edition of the race and runners loved the the inspiring stadium start, the waterfront stretches, the medieval Old Town, the magnificent City Hall, the island-hopping, the views across the islands that make up the city. The route is essentially a three, four or five hour sight-seeing tour!

The compact course is ultra-friendly for spectators so come with family and friends, some of them might want to enjoy the Friday 5k or the junior races.

Stockholm itself is a stunning city. Not huge, like London or Paris, but interesting and cosmopolitan. Our top tourist tips - a boat trip around the archipelago to get you orientated, a full exploration of medieval Gamla Stan - very atmospheric, and an excursion to the Vasa, the preserved 17th century warship.
