The Stanza Stones 50 Mile Ultra is a challenging trail race that traverses the South Pennines, linking the six Stanza Stones artworks created by poet Simon Armitage. The route follows a mixture of moorland trails, ancient packhorse tracks and countryside paths across West Yorkshire.
Starting and finishing in Hebden Bridge, the course passes through remote upland landscapes, reservoirs and gritstone moors while visiting each of the carved stones along the way. Combining long distance endurance with striking scenery and cultural landmarks, the event offers a distinctive Ultra Marathon experience in the heart of the Pennines.
