Carlisle 5K Series Race 5 is a chip timed 5K organised by Sport in Action, starting in Bitts Park and finishing at the Sheepmount Stadium. The mainly flat route takes runners through green spaces and around the historic surroundings of Carlisle Castle.

Runners follow an officially measured 5K course using a mixture of park paths, pavements and quiet roads with generally good surfaces. After an opening loop of Bitts Park, the route heads towards Carlisle Castle for two laps before returning to the Sheepmount Stadium, creating a fast course well suited to runners targeting a strong 5K time.

Race 5 is the final event in the Carlisle 5K Series, with each race providing individual results and prizes alongside the wider series competition. The combination of an accurately measured course, chip timing and a central Carlisle setting makes it an accessible midweek event for club and recreational runners.
