The Sport in Action 10K is a measured road race starting and finishing near Sheepmount Athletics Stadium in Bitts Park, Carlisle. The route uses a mixture of park paths and quiet country roads, providing a largely flat to gently undulating course through and around the city.
Runners tackle an officially measured 10K route with generally good road surfaces and a mixture of traffic free paths and quieter roads. The course is marshalled and runners are asked to remain aware of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles where the route shares public roads and paths.
The event is fully chip timed, with race headquarters and registration based at Sheepmount Athletics Stadium. Facilities include toilets, showers and baggage storage, with light refreshments available at the finish. Overall and age category prizes are also awarded following the race.
