The Sourton Tors Race is a traditional fell race on Dartmoor, starting near Sourton Village Hall and climbing towards Sourton Tors before looping through the valley. The senior race covers approximately 5.25K with 276m of ascent.
Runners tackle an entirely off road course, with much of the route crossing the open moorland of Dartmoor. Self navigation is an important part of the challenge, with compulsory checkpoints but no course markers, staying true to the traditions and skills of British fell racing.
Junior races add shorter challenges for younger runners, with 2K and 3K routes heading uphill and back on a marked course. The event is organised by Okehampton Running Club and held under Fell Runners Association rules, with the senior race classified AS.
