For those with the desire and legs, there is a race within a race, a timed ascent from Spooney Green Lane to the summit of Skiddaw, named the ‘Champion of Skiddaw’.
This race is designed to attract all types of runners: fell, sky, trail, mountain, and road. Starting and finishing in Crow Park, the route is a tough and uncompromising “hill climb” to Skiddaw Summit before racing back down again to the finish line.
