Happy Easter at the Stanwick Races

Stanwick Ready to Run This Easter

10K or 2K followed by a post-race party for the participants and their friends and families.

Instead of boots on the ground it will be trainers on the road this Easter Monday at the Stanwick Villages Races (10 April). This is a cracking community event for all ages and abilities which this year includes an after-party.

Stanwick Villages Races are held every Easter Monday and put this Northamptonshire parish on the map. Thanks to the hard work and committment of the Stanwick Races Group and the rest of the village, they deliver a successful and enjoyable event for all. It’s also a great way to undo the damage caused by too many Easter eggs!

The 10K is a highly regarded race organised under UKA rules and consists of a single undulating loop on roads and lanes around Stanwick and Chelveston. An attractive route which looks even prettier in the April sunshine (fingers crossed!) with water stations manned by smiling volunteers. It starts at 10am from the village church which is also the finish.

There is a 2K Fun Run for juniors aged 8 years upwards to under 15 at 10.10am which is held on part of the 10K course. There are awards for the top three boys and girls in 3 age groups – 8 to 9 years, 10 to 11 years and 12 to 14 years. Every finisher receives a medal and a crème egg.

After the run the fun begins, courtesy of the Duke of Wellington Pub, there'll be food, drink and entertainment as part of the village’s welcoming ethos. There’ll also be a DJ and his ‘Party Bus’ in the back gardens of the pub where people can throw a few shapes as they see out Easter Monday in style.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities and community groups.

This is one of the most popular races in the area so book your place before it sells out. Enter at the Stanwick Races website.
