The Shetland Toe to Tip is a six day adventure organised by Rat Race, combining a three day, 160K ultra marathon with travel and accommodation across the Shetland Islands. Beginning after an overnight ferry from Aberdeen, the route crosses the islands from Sumburgh in the south to the northern tip, showcasing some of Scotland's most remote and dramatic coastal scenery.
The route covers approximately 160 kilometres over three running days, following a mixture of coastal trails, beaches, rugged cliff tops, quiet roads and open countryside. Designed to be achievable for both runners and trekkers, the event includes full logistical support, accommodation, ferry travel, checkpoints, medical cover and luggage transfers throughout the adventure.
The Shetland Toe to Tip is an outstanding choice for endurance runners looking for a multi day challenge in a truly unique setting. Stunning coastal landscapes, abundant wildlife and a fully supported expedition format create an unforgettable ultra running experience across Britain's most northerly inhabited islands.
