The She Strides Metric Marathon is a 26K trail race based in Hebden Bridge, offering a unique distance that bridges the gap between a Half Marathon and a Marathon. Organised by She Strides, the event provides a challenging but accessible trail running experience through the spectacular landscapes of the South Pennines.
The out and back route begins in the centre of Hebden Bridge before climbing onto the moors and passing the iconic Stoodley Pike. Runners follow a mixture of sandy trails, rocky tracks and stone flagged paths across open moorland to the White House before returning along the same route, with panoramic views and sustained climbs providing a rewarding day on the trails.
The event features a fully marked course, marshals, a hydration station, secure baggage storage and a finisher's medal for every participant. Combining a distinctive race distance, memorable Pennine scenery and friendly organisation, the She Strides Metric Marathon offers an excellent introduction to longer distance trail running.
