The Saltash Santa Fun Run brings a festive atmosphere to the streets of Saltash as part of the town's annual Christmas Festival. Organised by Tamar Trotters, this popular community event welcomes families, friends and runners of all abilities to take part in a seasonal celebration, with participants dressed in Santa suits for the occasion.
The route covers just under 3K, starting and finishing at the top of Fore Street in Saltash. Runners cross the Tamar Bridge into Plymouth, complete a short loop and return across the bridge into Cornwall. The crossing provides a memorable feature of the course, making this festive road run a distinctive way to experience the River Tamar and the surrounding area.
With places limited to 200 participants, the event focuses on festive fun rather than competition. Every entrant receives a Santa suit, and finishers wearing their suit with their race number displayed receive a commemorative Santa medal. There are no competitive results or finishing position awards, allowing everyone to take part at their own pace and enjoy the Christmas celebrations.
