Champion efforts so far in Yorkshire Hill Climb Challenge

Running up that ever increasing hill in this virtual challenge.

There is nothing like a virtual event to please the eye and gladden the heart during Lockdown 2 and this one is a top performer. The Racesource Hill Climb Challenge invites participants to run three 10Ks with each one steeper than the previous and see how they fare against others on the live leaderboard and be in with a chance of a prize.

Organisers Racesource UK are a family run business in Yorkshire who have devised a series of virtual challenges that are an offshoot from the South Huddersfield Trail and Road Series. Described as ‘proper’ running challenges, they inspire and motivate in equal measure and keep everyone moving despite the uncertainty caused by the global pandemic.

Their latest offering is ideal for any runner wanting to reach the dizzy heights - literally! There are three levels and three interlocking medals which are sure to provide a sense of achievement upon completion. Level One is 10K with 100 metres of ascent, Level Two is 10K with 200 metres of ascent and Level Three is 10K with 300 metres of ascent. Participants have a choice of Road or Trail and there are prizes for the winning male and female from the three challenges plus spot prizes. 10% of all profits donated to local causes.

Runners choose their own hilly routes, submit their results to the website and post a photo or photos on the event Facebook page. There are some outstanding images and efforts as people make the most of the countryside and the elevation as they compete for places and prizes.

There are a few places left in this virtual challenge. To enter, visit the Racesource UK website.
