Run Media City Christmas 5K and 10K are organised by RunThrough and bring a festive morning of racing to the heart of MediaCity in Salford.
Starting and finishing in the MediaCity Piazza, the flat 2.5K loop crosses the Millennium Bridge and passes the Imperial War Museum, ITV and BBC studios. The repeated lap format gives runners plenty of opportunities to enjoy the distinctive waterfront surroundings while providing good conditions for those chasing a fast time.
The 5K completes two laps of the course, while the 10K completes four. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals guide runners throughout the route.
Both races are chip timed and finishers receive a themed medal, official race photographs and post race goodies. The Christmas event also supports Salford Foodbank, RunThrough's Charity of the Year.
