The Metro Aberdeen Proms 3K Winter Series brings monthly road racing to Aberdeen's seafront, with the December race forming part of the club's regular competition programme. Organised by Metro Aberdeen Running Club, the event welcomes runners of all abilities to a measured course along the Beach Esplanade.
The flat 3K promenade course gives runners an opportunity to test their speed, target a personal best or track their progress throughout the winter. The coastal setting and exposed seafront add character to the route, while Jones Counter measurement ensures an accurately measured distance.
Each race requires a separate entry, with runners collecting their number and reporting to registration near the Beach Leisure Centre. Competitors keep the same number throughout the series, with accumulated times from three races contributing to the overall standings. Prizes are awarded across various series categories.
