Rombalds Romp is a 13K fell race across Ilkley Moor, covering a varied route with around 370m of ascent. Organised by North Leeds Fell Runners, the course explores the rough and scenic terrain of Rombalds Moor and is suitable for runners taking their first steps into fell racing.
Runners tackle rough rocky tracks, heathery paths and woodland trails, alongside approximately one mile of road. The forest sections add technical terrain with exposed tree roots and wooden bridges that can become slippery in wet conditions, while the hills and uneven ground provide a classic fell running challenge.
The race starts and finishes on Keighley Road, with registration nearby on Keighley Gate Road. FRA mandatory kit requirements apply, including waterproofs, hat, gloves, compass and whistle, although requirements may be adjusted according to conditions.
