The River Run is a half marathon starting and finishing at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea. The route follows the River Adur through the surrounding West Sussex landscape and forms part of the South Coast Series.
The course uses a mixture of pathways, riverside footpaths and very light trail, travelling alongside Shoreham Airport before crossing the Toll Bridge and following the Downs Link towards Upper Beeding. It continues past Bramber Castle before returning along the opposite side of the river towards Shoreham-by-Sea.
With a predominantly flat course and varied but runnable surfaces, the River Run Half Marathon provides an accessible long distance challenge for a wide range of runners. The course is marked and marshalled, with chip timing and aid stations positioned along the route.
